Business Analytics

Interested in turning measurements into insight? With a business analytics major from Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business, you will play an increasingly important role as organizations seriously examine data.

In order to deliver exceptional business performance, it is crucial that businesses actively analyze internal and external data to drive their decisions. Opportunities abound for tech-savvy business people who know how to deal intelligently with data.

The business analytics major prepares students to succeed in a data-driven world, providing exposure to software platforms and techniques used to store, transform, manipulate, analyze and interpret small and large sets of data.

Beyond the classroom

As a business analytics student at WMU, you will be eligible to apply for scholarships available through our department. To qualify, you will submit an online application that outlines your qualities as a student and how you plan to impact the world through information technology.

If you're interested in hearing about the latest trends in technology straight from industry leaders, you'll want to attend the Western Michigan IT Forum. This on-campus event has featured high-profile speakers from companies such as Google, Kellogg, Pfizer, LinkedIn, IBM and Cisco.

After you graduate

McKinsey Global Institute reports a projected shortage of 140,000 to 190,000 analytics professionals by 2018, meaning graduates are in high demand.
