Career and Technical Education
Western Michigan University's undergraduate career and technical education teacher education program prepares individuals to teach business, marketing, technology, family and consumer sciences, and industrial technology in middle schools, high schools, technical schools, and alternative education schools. Students have five majors to choose from:
- Family and consumer sciences teacher education major
- Industrial technology vocational major
- Industrial technology non-vocational major
- Occupational education studies major
- Secondary education in business major and group major
Beyond the classroom
Students participate in pre-intern and intern teaching experiences before graduating.
After you graduate
Recent WMU graduates with degrees in career and technical education are working as:
- Teachers in grades six through 12
- Career and technical skills center teachers
- Community college instructors
- Alternative education teachers in grades six through 12
