Western Michigan University's Department of Accountancy Advisory Council is comprised of representatives from across the country who work in public accounting, business and industry, government, education and nonprofit organizations. The council meets with the accountancy faculty annually. The mission of the advisory council is to foster relationships between the program and industry partners to achieve the following objectives:
- Gain a better understanding of the skills and attributes current and potential employers seek in our graduates.
- Provide faculty with guidance in continually improving the accounting curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Provide faculty with opportunities to interact with representatives to learn about current practices.
- Familiarize representatives with the strengths and unique characteristics of our program.
