How do I grant access to my parent or guardian access to view my Western Michigan University payment and account information?

Students can grant access to parents or others by logging in to GoWMU with their Bronco NetID and password.

  1. Select Payment and Account Information.
  2. Select the Authorized Users tab.
  3. Click on Add Authorized User.
  4. Enter the email address of the person you have chosen to be an authorized user.
  5. Indicate a Yes or No to each area you wish to allow or not allow access for this user.
  6. Click Continue button.
  7. Read the agreement, and then check the I Agree box. Click Continue.
  8. Once completed, you will receive the following message: Thank you. We have sent an email notification to this person.

 How do I grant my parent or third party authorized user proxy access to my academic or financial aid award information?

Complete instructions for granting proxy access to your academic or financial aid award information can be found on the Western Michigan University's Registrar website. This type of access, proxy access, is now managed by the Registrar's Office.

How will my parent or authorized user know they have access to my billing and payment information?

The authorized user will receive an email message from wmu-billing@wmich.edu informing them they have been granted access to your account and given the Web address. A separate email will be sent with a temporary password.

What if my parent or authorized user is locked out of my account?

They will have to wait at least 30 minutes to regain access. After waiting 30 minutes, authorized users should return to the authorized user login page and have a temporary password emailed to them.  Select 'e-mailed' under 'Forgot your password?' on the payment and account login screen.  Authorized users should then be able to login using the new temporary password they received in their email.

If they are still having trouble after waiting 30 minutes and resetting the password, there may be a browser issue.  Please clear the cache on the current browser and/or try another browser.

What if my parent or authorized user forgets their password for access to my account for billing and payment purposes?

They can visit the authorized user login page and have the password emailed to them by selecting 'e-mailed' under 'Forgot your password?'.

How can the authorized user's email address be changed?

The student will need to sign in to GoWMU using their Bronco NetID and password. Select the Payment and Account Information channel, click on the Authorized User tab, and select the authorized user to be deleted. You can then add an authorized user with the new email address.

Will my parent or authorized user receive an email when a new tuition invoice or statement is available?

Your parent or authorized user will receive an email from wmu-billing@wmich.edu when a new tuition invoice or monthly statement is available.
