What traditions does WMU have?

Western Michigan University is home to the Broncos.  Our school colors are brown and gold, and Buster Bronco is our official mascot.

Fall Welcome is a weeklong event for new students prior to the beginning of fall classes.  Immediately following Fall Welcome and just prior to the first full day of classes is Bronco Bash.  Bronco Bash is the annual event for new and returning students as well as faculty, staff and community members that launches another great year at WMU.  More than 400 student organizations, university departments, community members, local businesses and area restaurants participate in the event.

Another popular fall tradition is the annual football game against our Central Michigan University, which is preceded by a weeklong blood drive at both schools to see who can achieve the most blood donations for the American Red Cross.
