What types of student housing are available at WMU?

Housing at Western Michigan University is normally assigned on a first-come first-serve basis, although this fall, some early applicants who qualify for admission may be able to select their housing units early in their senior year of high school.  Housing sign-up normally begins in February for the following fall semester.

There is a variety of "theme" housing options on campus.  In addition to traditional housing with multiple dining options, the University offers apartment-style living, married housing, and co-ed residence halls.

There are numerous off-campus housing options in close proximity to WMU.  Many landlords offer attractive options and services as well as  competitive pricing.

WMU has 13 residence halls that typically house more than 5,000 people. While the majority are new, first-time students, many upper-division and transfer students also find campus housing more affordable and convenient than living off campus.
