Cutting-edge technology

As a WMU student, you will have access to the sophisticated technology and facilities essential for graduate-level study. WMU:

• ranks No. 2 in wireless computing on Intel's list of the 100 "Most Unwired College Campuses"; and
• operates Michigan's fourth largest library system, which is capable of connecting you with 41,000 libraries worldwide.

We also provide some of the best scientific and technical research facilities in the Midwest, including:

• a state-of-the-art science research complex that supports collaborative, interdisciplinary approaches to areas such as environmental science and biomedical and nanotechnology research; and

Major equipment and facilities

This includes:  NMR, ESR, FTIR, X-Ray, HPLC, LC-MS, ICP-MS, RT-PCR, microarray workstation and scanner, Tandem Van de Graaff accelerator lab, laser lab, Earth sciences remote sensing facility and imaging facility.

Recent positions obtained by graduates include:

• faculty positions at Lansing Community College, Assumption College, Susquehanna University and Grand Valley State University;
• industrial or government laboratory positions at Pfizer, National Institutes of Health, Center for Disease Control.
