Community Resources

Western Michigan University Aging Services is dedicated to assisting individuals find community resources that enable them to live a healthy, safe and happy life while remaining in their homes. Below you will find links to other community providers that offer services and education to older adults and their families.

  • Matter of Balance (MOB) is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling, stop the fear of falling cycle and improve activity levels among older adults. MOB is an evidence-based program, based on research conducted by the Roybal Center for Enhancement of Late-Life Function at Boston University. This program uses a volunteer lay leader model.

MOB Class schedule

  • Creating Confident Caregivers is a program for those (in the community) caring for loved ones with dementia or memory loss. This unique, six-week training uses the university tested Savvy Caregiver Program, and provides participants with information and resources to better manage the stress of care giving.
