Located in historic Walwood Union, the McKee Alumni Center is named in honor of alumni, Harold "Mac" McKee and Beulah McKee. During their lives and through their estate, Mac and Beulah McKee contributed more than one-million dollars to Western Michigan University. They spent a lifetime as devoted public school educators in Kalamazoo County.
The McKees supported a variety of student scholarships with substantial
gifts to WMU, and they named the University as the sole beneficiary of
their estate. Harold (1907-1989) and Beulah (1907-1991) were not people
of extraordinary means, simply people of extraordinary generosity.
The WMU Alumni Association is proud to have the alumni center named for
these two graduates, who made exemplary gifts of their time, talents,
and accumulated life savings to their alma mater.
