Graduate Program Requirements
Students may elect to take a "Thesis Track" or an "Internship Track."
Master of Arts in Anthropology: Thesis Track
Requirements for the M.A. in Anthropology with a thesis include:
- 36 credit hours (10 class credist + six hours thesis credit)
- Four seminars (Anthropology 6010,
6020, 6030, 6040)
- One course in Research Methods (Anth 5300 or 5400)
- Six hours of thesis credit (7000)
- M.A. thesis
- Oral presentation of thesis results to department
Master of Arts in Anthropology: Internship Track
Requirements for the M.A. in Anthropology without a thesis include:
- 36 credit hours
(10 classes + 6 hours Internship)
- Four seminars (Anthropology 6010, 6020, 6030, 6040)
- Six hours of internship or practicum
(Anthropology 6990)
- Paper-based on internship or practicum
- Oral presentation of practicum results
