Congratulations to the Frostic School of Art 2010 Artemya High School Competition exhibitors and awardees

Taylor P. McKinstry is one of eight Medallion Scholars entering the College of Fine Arts for the fall 2009 semester and one of 20 University wide. The Frostic School would like to welcome Taylor into our community.

Taylor P. McKinstry of O'Fallon, Ill., received the Gwen Frostic Presidential Medallion Scholarship and plans to major in graphic design and music. A graduate of O'Fallon Township High School, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Thespian Society, and he was named an Illinois State Scholar. During high school, he participated in show choir, chamber choir, theatre, Encore Jazz Choir and Madrigals, and he volunteered for a community housing effort called Rebuilding Together.

About the Medallion Scholarship Program

Each Medallion Scholarship is valued at $40,000 over four years ($10,000 per year). All Medallion Scholars become members of Western Michigan University's Lee Honors College. Benefits of the honors college include a freshman mentoring program, smaller class sizes, individualized academic advising, and much more.
