Christina Chin joined the Frostic School of Art in fall 2010 as Assistant Professor of Art specializing in art education. Chin recently received her Ph.D. in art education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) where she had earlier completed her M.A. degree. Prior to her career in academia, Chin worked for over a decade in marketing research and consulting. Her previous degrees include a M.S. in integrated marketing from Northwestern University and a B.A. in advertising from Michigan State University. Christina's teaching experience includes a year in Beijing teaching middle and high school students. While at the University of Illinois, she has served as assistant director of their Saturday Art School program and taught "Methods of Teaching Art," a key art education course that prepares undergraduate art majors for a career in teaching art by bridging theory with practice.
