Founded in 1977, the Air Zoo has a rich history of honoring and celebrating air and space flight. The Air Zoo offers a highly charged, multi-sensory atmosphere that goes beyond anything you've ever seen. Voted the "Best Place to Take Out-of-Towners" and "Best Place to Spend a Day with Your Family", the Air Zoo features many amusement park-style rides, full-motion flight simulators, 4-D Missions Theater, Magic Planet, Space Ball and a Zero Gravity Experience, as well as historical exhibits and educational activities. Please visit their web-site Kalamazoo Air Zoo.
The College of Aviation and the Air Zoo work together in a variety of capacities, specifically in the ability to offer overnight aviation camps. Campers attending the multi-day event will immerse themselves into mission specific activities, allowing the exploration into all components of aviation. Days will be spent discovering the importance of crew resource management (CRM), flight planning, systems orientation, and much more. Also, campers will be provided the opportunity to fly in the College of Aviation's state of the art Cirrus SR20! More information to come!
