Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Graduate Certificate (Cert)

The graduate certificate in the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA) is a 21-credit hour specialization in which the curriculum consists of 18 credit hours of required coursework and 3 credit hours of field practicum. The course credit hours may be applied to the educational requirements for the Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor (CAAC) Credential and the Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) Credential. The graduate certificate is often most applicable for working professionals and graduate students in the following majors/professional fields:

  • Counselor education and counseling psychology
  • Evaluation
  • Occupational therapy
  • Psychology
  • Public administration
  • Biological sciences
  • Social work
  • Sociology
  • and other related disciplines
