College Priorities

  • Accreditation: Our faculty members work as a team to ensure the college meets and exceeds the requirements of AACSB accreditation. Hiring new faculty ensures the college has the resources to maintain the highest standards in teaching, research and service.
  • Enrollment management and student demographics. By committing resources to recruiting and retaining talented and diverse students, the College continues to work diligently to provide excellent educational opportunities to the widest range of students in an environment that supports academic freedom.
  • State funding. While declining revenues have made for tighter budgets in the college, continuous improvements in how the college operates have significantly reduced the impact of budget challenges. The continued support of donors and alumni allows the college to continue to develop and grow.
  • Differentiation through continuous development of our specialty programs. Each of our programs provides unique opportunities for students to develop career goals. Several programs are known nationally and internationally and provide unique learning opportunities. Among the college’s signature programs are accountancy, sales & business marketing, integrated supply management and food & consumer package goods marketing.
  • Ethics in Business. Every day the news emphasizes the importance of ethics in business, and the college continues to stress the importance of professionalism and ethical business practices throughout the curriculum.
  • Globalization. Our Global Business Center provides the structure to leverage the many efforts to integrate international perspectives in the curriculum.  By partnering with the Haenicke Institute for Graduate Education, the Global Business Center coordinates and supports initiatives to increase student participation in study-abroad experiences and host international events and speakers.
  • Sustainability. Sustainability and green practices are now critical components of corporate social responsibility.  The new center for sustainable business practices in the college is providing key input and resources to help faculty integrate sustainability concepts throughout the curriculum.
