“It is extremely humbling to realize the actual amount I've received in the past five years, knowing that the people of my community have basically financed my scholarships. Having these scholarships has meant that did not have to work as many hours to finance school.  I was also able to travel abroad, which I would not have been able to do had I not received this aid. I am extremely grateful.”

“I would like to thank Biggs Gilmore for the wonderful, unique opportunity they have provided me.  It is such an honor that I was chosen to intern at their agency and receive a scholarship award.  This will help me tremendously, not only financially, but in the working world.  Stresses of finding an internship loom among many approaching seniors, and I have been blessed with mentors, inspirers, and kind-hearted advertising enthusiasts who want to make an impact on the upcoming workforce.  I feel like my hard work and long hours are turning into something great.”

“I am a senior currently working with Coca-Cola Enterprises with a sales representative internship, and I received the Greenleaf Companies Sales and Business Marketing Scholarship and the James W. Richmond Sales and Business Marketing Scholarship.

By receiving these scholarships, I was able to study overseas for three weeks. The trip introduced foreign business affairs to me and enabled me to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I went to Germany and learned German business and culture, which was quite an experience. Without these scholarships, I would not have been able to study overseas and would not have as great of an understanding of international business and its rapid growth. By receiving these scholarships and studying abroad, I was able to represent my university as well as my major. I will be able to apply the experiences I had learned on the trip in the future, and that is an invaluable gift. Thank You!”

“Receiving The Friends of David Luce Scholarship and The Robert B. Wetnight Accounting Scholarship was a real blessing towards my senior year.  By this point in my education, I see my funds waning, and this was a much-needed boost. It is also an honor to receive recognition in this form. Taking the Certified Public Accountant exam requires a five-year commitment and receiving these scholarships put me one step closer to earning my degree and my CPA license. I am grateful for the financial support and am very honored to have been chosen for these scholarships.”

Sheila Lenzlenz

"I am extremely grateful to have received the Alfred Pugno and Robert Wetnight scholarships during the Spring of 2010. These scholarships have allowed me to continue my education at WMU during my fifth year, work on my honors thesis, and work towards my goal of graduating summa cum laude. As a result of finishing my fifth year at WMU, I will be able to satisfy my 150-hour requirement to become a licensed CPA in the state of Michigan and begin my career immediately after graduation. These scholarships have really propelled my academic career forward!"

“It's so nice to have been awarded a scholarship.  It really motivates me to continue working hard and excelling in school.  Receiving a scholarship helps with the financial burden that goes along with college.”

ganfi"I was so excited when I heard I’d been chosen to receive a scholarship from the Food & CPG Marketing program at Western Michigan University.  I was even more thrilled when I’d heard the generous amount of money that would be paying for nearly my entire semester’s tuition cost.  I was the Kellogg Corporate Citizenship scholarship recipient, which was a great honor to me since I have been working as an intern with the Kellogg Company for the past year.  I was recognized on the Kellogg homepage, and people across the company were proud to see how much I was benefiting from this scholarship.  This could not have come at a better time, and I will be forever grateful to both WMU and the Kellogg Company."

stap"I am very honored and grateful to receive the Robert D. Neubig Graduate Accountancy Scholarship.  Having recently been laid off and with my wife expecting our first child, the financial assistance couldn’t have come at a better time.  I have been enjoying my pursuit of an MSA degree from the Haworth College of Business at WMU and look forward to my remaining semesters."

hester" As a recent scholarship recipient, I was able to participate in the Global Business in Japan and Thailand study abroad trip that is offered through Western Michigan University.  The trip was easily one of the most incredible experiences of my life.  We were able to spend almost a week in Tokyo before traveling to several different locations in various regions of Thailand. The trip would not have been made possible if it wasn’t for my scholarship.  "
