Bio

Dr. Chen, professor of business information systems at Western Michigan University, has been involved in information systems teaching and research since the early 1990s. Chen specializes in electronic commerce. He has developed management information systems and E-commerce courses and concentrations at several universities. He teaches online privacy topics, including privacy protection and Phishing. Chen's research interests include electronic commerce, online behavioral issues (privacy, interactivity, and security), applied artificial intelligence, data mining techniques, WWW security and digital watermarking. His research appeared in MIS journals, multi-disciplinary journals and refereed conference proceedings, including IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Information and Management, Communications of the AIS, Journal of E-Business, Journal of Computer Information Systems and many others. He also serves on the editorial board of Journal of Website Promotion.

In addition to being a computer information systems advisor, Chen is the coordinator of the BIS internship and scholarship programs.
