In this new role, Sara is responsible for ensuring students meet all university and major requirements through careful course planning, processing applications to the college of business, and matching university resources with individual student needs. In addition to these functions, Sara also manages the ISM application process.
Sara’s passion is building relationships with students, meeting a student where they are and providing support and guidance to assist them in getting to where they want to be. Her goal is to provide accurate advising that ensures timely graduation, helping students manage the curriculum process so they can take advantage of the experiences and opportunities that abound on a college campus, such as study abroad, student organizations, career center services, internships, etc.
Sara earned a B.S. in education from WMU in 2004. Sara began her career in the Haworth College of Business in 2008 as the office assistant for the marketing department. Prior to her work with the University, she spent one year as the office manager for a thriving chiropractic office in Jackson Hole, WY, and over two years substitute teaching in Kalamazoo and the Quad Cities, IA. Sara regularly uses the skills she developed from her bachelor’s degree and from her work experience in her advising role. Sara received the Student Support Staff Award in 2011 and looks forward to an enriching career working with WMU and ISM students.
