Dr. Steve Newell is professor of marketing at Western Michigan University. His primary teaching interests include advertising and promotion, professional selling, sales management, marketing management, and principles of marketing.
His research interests include Superbowl advertising, corporate credibility and environmental marketing. His articles have appeared in numerous journals including the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Psychology & Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Marketing Communications, Journal of Business Research and the Journal of Marketing Education, as well as articles in conference proceedings.
Prior to joining the faculty at WMU, he taught at Bowling Green State University as an assistant and associate professor for nine years.
Before pursuing his studies, Newell worked as a sales representative for a consumer goods company and as a sales manager for an environmental consulting firm.
