Rodney Faulk, Outstanding Alumni Award

Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from WMU Army ROTC in 1986, Rodney Faulk later graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in December of 1987. Faulk has held numerous assignments from company to division level, including Deputy Inspector General, Joint Task Force Guantanamo, Inspector General for the 300th Military Police Brigade, Battalion Commander and Chief of Staff and later Deputy Commander for the 300th Military Police Brigade.

In 2005, Faulk deployed the 785th Military Police Battalion to Iraq to exercise command and control of the world’s largest military detention facility at Camp Bucca, Iraq. He later deployed again with the 300th Military Police Brigade from 2007 to 2008. Faulk assumed command of the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (Rear) in January 2011 and helped them to become the top ranked command in soldier readiness and training. He is currently assigned as the Chief of Staff for the 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command in Des Moines, Iowa.

Faulk’s civilian career includes experience in project management and technology management with Comerica Bank and IBM. With Comerica, he successfully managed numerous multi-million-dollar technology projects, all meeting their objectives on time and on budget. Currently his civilian position is in system acquisition and management for the U.S. Army.

Colonel Faulk’s military awards and decorations include two Bronze Star medals, the Defense Meritorious Service medal, six Meritorious Service medals, eight Army Commendation medals and two Army Achievement medals. He earned his MBA from Wayne State University in 1993 and graduated from the U.S. Army War College in 2009.
