Dr. Sime Curkovic, professor, supply chain management, was the keynote speaker with Mike Vitek, vice president, Mercedes Benz Technology, North America, at the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute Annual Meeting, “Supply Chain Management Risk," April 13, Grand Rapids, Mich.

Geralyn Heystek and Jessie Wagner, career advisors, presented "Supporting Student Success through Externships: An Academic and Career Advising Collaboration" at the NACADA Region V Conference--Academic Advising: Reinventing Student Success for the 21st Century, April 11-13 in Akron Ohio.

Dr. Chris Stamper, associate dean for undergraduate programs, and Dr. Timothy Palmer, professor of management, presented "Strategies for Faculty Engagement: Driving Culture Change through a College-wide Assessment Retreat" at the AACSB Assessment Conference in Houston, Texas in March.

March 2012

Stacey Markin, alumni relations officer, and Valorie Juergens, communications coordinator,  presented “Communications Strategies for Alumni Relations and Development” at the AACSB Building B-Schools Symposium in early March in Tampa, Fla.

February 2012

Dr. Sime Curkovic, professor of management, will present "Supply Chain Management Risk" as the joint keynote speaker, with Mike Vitek, vice president, Mercedes Benz Technology NA LLC, for the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids, Mich., scheduled for April 13, 2012.

Dr. Stacey Fitzsimmons, assistant professor of management, presented at two international conferences in late February. She presented her research "Multicultural Employees: A Framework for Understanding How They Contribute to Organizations" to faculty members at Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) as part of a Research Seminar Series.

Dr. Stacey Fitzsimmons, assistant professor of management, presented a research paper, co-authored with Dr. Chris Stamper, associate dean for undergraduate programs, titled "Cultural Influences on Fit and Friction in the Employee-Employer Relationship" at the International Organizations Network Conference" in Heilbronn, Germany.

Dr. Roberta J. Schultz, associate professor of marketing, and Dr. Charles H. Schwepker, Jr. (University of Central Missouri) and Dr. David J. Good (Grand Valley State University) will have the abstract of their paper "Generational Differences and their Impact on Sales Management" published in the Pi Sigma Epsilon National Sales Conference Proceedings and in the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management. Schultz will present the paper in Indianapolis in March 2012.

November 2011

Hal Bates, director of recruitment and retention, presented with Yumi Takahashi-Ede, academic advisor, WMU College of Arts and Sciences, on the Early Alert program in a talk titled “Why attend a class?” at the National Academic Advising Association National Conference in Denver.

Geralyn Heystek, career advisor, and Paul Hildenbrand, director of advising and admissions, presented on “Careerademics” at the National Academic Advising Association National Conference in Denver. The talk focused on changes made to the freshmen orientation process since 2008. 

Dr. Andrew Targowski, professor of business information systems, was a keynote speaker at the International Conference on CENTERIS 2011, October 5-8, in Vilamour, Portugal. He spoke on "From Portuguese to Virtual Globalization: 500 Years of ICT-driven Civilizational Development and a Triumph of Humanity? The Comparative and Modeling Approach."
