Student Employee of the Year, 2006/07
Darian Mitchell

Darian Mitchell is a graduate assistant in the department of University Curriculum. He is responsible for using his expertise and knowledge gained as a doctorial student in the Counselor Psychology program to serve students who are exploring academic majors. In order to work as an academic advisor, he had to learn all of the University's academic programs and connect with students about each specific academic area. As Darian's supervisor states, "Darian has always gone the extra mile, not sometimes, but all of the time." He has kept in touch with most of his students by completing follow-up phone calls, connecting through email, and even sending special personal postcards to them. Darian cares so much about his students. He understands it and more importantly, he values the students and the services the department provide them. Darian has the trust and support from the department. He cares a great deal about professionally representing himself, the department, and the University.
Congratulations Darian for being co-Student Employee of the Year!!
