Information about Student Employee Appreciation Week

Career and Student Employment Services hosts Student Employee Appreciation Week celebration the week of February 20, 2012.  The week is dedicated to all student employees and is a time to recognize all the hard work and contributions that student employees make to the Western Michigan University community. The week also offers the opportunity to showcase an outstanding Student Employee and Student Supervisor.

Career and Student Employment Services provides a template for certificates of appreciation to campus departments.  Departments are also encouraged to celebrate Student Employee Appreciation Week with their employees. A celebration is a wonderful opportunity for students to interact with other members of the university community, and to learn more about how important they are to the educational mission of Western Michigan University.

One major activity of Student Employee Appreciation Week includes presenting awards to the Student Employee of the Year and the Supervisor of the Year during the Student Employee Appreciation Week Reception which will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012, 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the Bernhard Center. The Student Employee of the Year’s nomination is sent forward to a national competition. Supervisors may nominate student employees and student employees may nominate their supervisors. A judging event is held the beginning of February to determine which nominees will win. Go online at www.wmich.edu/career  to nominate student employees and supervisors.
