Marsha Oenick graduated from Western Michigan University with a BS in Chemistry and Paper Science. She earned a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Physiological Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. Marsha joined Eastman Kodak Company in 1985. In 1994 Johnson and Johnson acquired the Clinical Chemistry Division from Eastman Kodak and Marsha transferred as part of this acquisition, which became Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson and Johnson subsidiary. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics provides diagnostic instrumentation and reagents to the Clinical Laboratory and Transfusion Medicine markets. Over the course of her career Marsha has authored 21 articles in published in peer-reviewed journals and holds 13 US patents from her work in the development of immuno-materials and assay formats for thin-film analytical elements. She led the team responsible for bringing the company's first thin-film dry slide immunoassay to the market. She also led the team responsible for development and launch of VITROS 5,1 FS, a new clinical chemistry analyzer. Most recently her department delivered 22 new assay products in 2006-2008. Marsha is a Johnson and Johnson Certified Black Belt in 6-Sigma. Marsha has held various management positions of progressive responsibility in R&D, R&D product support, and Process Excellence deployment. Marsha is now Group Director, R&D. Her organization is responsible for design, development, and delivery of all new assay/reagent products for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. November 2009 |
