The Capstone Design Factory is an university‐industry partnership envisioned to produce highly qualified civil and construction engineers by integrating design, regulations, specifications and codes, construction (implementation), and business realities into the civil and construction engineering curriculum. The teaching approach is by active learning, real problems and experience with state‐of-the‐art modeling, analysis and design tools in a modern facility. The Capstone Design Factory offers students an experience that directly prepares them for careers in civil engineering design and construction, with general problem‐ solving abilities.
