
Policy for Civil and Construction Engineering Excellence Scholarship
Scholarship funding is available for the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering (CCE) as a result of the college differential tuition applied to undergraduate students. The objective of the CCE Excellence Scholarship is to attract and retain top based on merit and/or financial needs.
The CCE Excellence Scholarship will be distributed among sophomore, junior, and senior students in both civil engineering and construction engineering programs. The scholarship award will be a minimum of $750/semester ($1,500/academic year). Students must maintain the minimum GPA listed below for receiving the next semester’s award.
Undergraduate students who pay differential tuition within the CCE Department and qualify based on the following criteria can apply:
Recipients and amounts of the scholarship will be determined by the Departmental Scholarship Committee with 70% of the available funds assigned to merit-based scholarships.
Students may be considered for the scholarship by completing the scholarship application form (see appendix). The CCE Scholarship Committee monitors the process of application, reviewing and awarding the scholarships according to the following timeline:
Scholarship awards will be deposited in students’ accounts and recepients will receive CCE Excellence Scholarship certificates.
Students will not receive this award if they are recipients of the Medallion Scholarship. Students must maintain the minimum GPA requirements to maintain the award for the academic year.

American Society of Civil Engineers
Southwest Michigan BranchThe award is presented annually to a student member of ASCE who has made a contribution to the advancement of student engineering activities. This award will consist of a one-time grant of $1,000, and considers academic performance as an indication of preparation for future career in Civil Engineering.
National Association for Women in Construction
The NAWIC scholarship is open to currently enrolled full-time female students pursuing a career in a construction related field.
