Master's program admissions for international applicants
All master's degree application materials must be RECEIVED by CECP on or before the appropriate application deadline. CECP has three different application deadlines for MA program admissions during the year: January 15 for ensuing summer and fall semester, May 15, also for the ensuing fall semester and September 15 for the following spring semester.
Applicants interested in beginning their graduate master's degree studies in the Fall semester are encouraged to meet the January 15 application deadline This allows applicants to receive admission offers well in advance of the fall semester. Also, applicants who plan to seek assistantships or campus employment beginning in the fall semester should apply by January 15 to be competitive for such assistance or positions.
Please note that CECP MA program application deadlines are different from the general published deadlines on the OISS website. Applications should be sure to meet applicable OISS and department deadlines for the semester they wish to begin their graduate studies.
To apply, print the international student application form. Submit your completed application, an official TOEFL score report (required minimum is 500 on written portion; required minimum is 173 on computer-based testing) and other documents for processing immigration documents.
Next, complete the following. Remember, both the international and the CECP departmental application forms must be returned to OISS first.
Please be sure that all of your materials have been received by OISS at least two weeks prior to the department deadline for applications. Applicants may be interviewed as a final step in the application process. It is your responsibility to keep the Department updated regarding any change of address and/or telephone numbers where you may be contacted. If admitted by the department, OISS will send applicants an admission letter and/or immigration documents necessary to obtain a student visa.
Doctoral Program admissions for international applicants
Doctoral admissions is specific to either the counselor education doctoral program or counseling psychology doctoral program. The deadline for receipt of all admission materials for the counseling psychology program is January 10 and February 1 for the counselor education program. Please note that CECP doctoral students begin their doctoral studies in the fall semester and our doctoral program admission deadlines are earlier than the general application deadlines for OISS.
