Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology

The doctoral program in counseling psychology has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since the initial accreditation in 1993.

The Rehabilitation Counseling program and the joint program in Rehabilitation Counseling/Teaching is accredited by The Council on Rehabilitation Education.
Two on-site low cost clinics, one in Kalamazoo and one in Grand Rapids, provide a variety of counseling services and serve as primary training facilities for master’s and doctoral level students.
We emphasize the importance of addressing the needs of an increasingly diverse society and many faculty maintain active professional and research interests concerning various aspects of multicultural and diversity studies.
