About commencement participation

Commencement ceremonies are held twice each year, following the Fall and Spring semesters. Students may participate only if they are on track to complete their degree requirements by their graduation term.

Because no summer ceremony is held, June and August graduates are invited to participate in the Spring commencement ceremony. Summer graduates who prefer to attend the December ceremony may arrange this through the Registrar’s Office. Doctoral students graduating in June or August are invited to participate in the December commencement ceremony after completing their degree requirements.
