
June Cottrell received her masters degree in Speech Education in 1966. She joined the faculty at Western Michigan University in 1966 as an instructor in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences. During her tenure she taught a variety of courses in the Department of Communication as well as the Department of Theatre, and earned emeritus status in both departments. Throughout her career she became widely recognized for her work in theatre and communication education. Among her many honors are national recognition from the American Alliance for Theatre Education and special recognition for her outstanding service by the Michigan Speech Communication Association.
