Similar to the non-vocational industrial technology major, this major prepares students to teach industrial technology type courses at the middle or secondary level. The main difference is that this major requires the student to document 4,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience in the industrial area in which they would like to teach.
Industrial Technology Vocational Major is an approved State Board of Education and North Central Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE) teacher education program.
Teaching in a Career and Technical Skills Center Teacher or a Community College Instructor in the specific area chosen. Examples of teaching areas: Auto Tech, Welding, Construction Trades, Drafting, Electronics .
This degree program leads to a State of Michigan K-12 or Secondary Provisional Certificate (depending on the teachable major or minor).
