General Changes:
The CPMP-Tools Help menu has been updated to
include revised help topics for Courses 1, and 2. Access the comprehensive
help system from any open tool window by clicking on the
button.
Use the A-Z index or Topics index to quickly navigate to the desired help
content.
Strand Specific Changes:
Algebra
Use the Matrices menu within the Home and Y= tabs
of CAS to create a new matrix, edit an existing matrix, use available
matrix functions, view sample matrices, and view matrices as undirected
or directed graphs within Vertex-Edge Graph.
Pre-set data files for both Course 1 and 2 are accessible within CAS.
Within the Home tab, choose File>Data> to
view the available options and open a separate Data tab
within the CAS window.
Light it Up! custom tool is available from within the Algebra menu.
In this tool you can simulate experiments with batteries and bulbs
in search of the relationship among current, voltage, and resistance. Click
the
button
within this tool to view instructions for use.
Geometry
Utilize the features of Interactive Geometry in a coordinate
environment! Select new features such as the command window (Options menu),
measurements in coordinates (Measurements menu), and some
of the transformation options (Transform
menu)
are specifically designed to be used in the Coordinate Geometry environment.
Custom tools and sample sketches have been updated for the Course 2 content.
Access these tools from the main CPMP-Tools screen under the Geometry menu,
or from within one of Synthetic or Coordinate geometry
tools. Tools and sketches specific to the coordinate environment include: Design
by Robot, Animate Shuttle, Roll Over, Humanoid, Animate
Person, Animate Humanoid. Tools and sketches specific to
the synthetic environment include: Explore Angles in Circles, Auto
Jack,
Explore SSA, Standard Angle, and Piston.
Set the number of digits shown for a calculated object in Interactive
Geometry. Select (
) a calculated object (e.g., a coordinate measure),
then choose Change Style of Selected in the Edit menu.
Use the Digits drop-down menu to set the number of digits
to 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6.
Statistics
The Modeling custom tool has been expanded to include multiple
options for regression models. Choose the Models menu
then select from: Linear, Quadratic, Power, Exponential, and Logarithmic
model types.
The Modeling custom tool also includes options to: plot residuals
(
),
show squares (
),
draw means (
),
guess the regression coefficient (
),
and toggle point exclusion (
); all new features to this tool.
Discrete Math
Willow Forest Ecosystem custom tool is a new feature unique to Course 2 Vertex-Edge Graph tool. In this tool you examine the Willow Forest Ecosystem digraph to complete its adjacency matrix and paths of length 1 matrix.
