Western Michigan University!

For many years, Western's dance department has been acclaimed and honored by many professional dance artists and organizations. The department's productions, faculty, and students have been showcased at national and international competitions and its training program singled out as exceeding national standards. Its graduates are now in professional companies, on the faculties of distinguished universities, in the entertainment industry, and in leading community studios throughout the country. The dance department continues to be a major force in the arts in Michigan and throughout the Midwest.

Recognizing the essential need for student-centered support in a program of such comprehensiveness and distinction, a group of concerned citizens came together in 2000 to form Partners in Dance. Below, you will learn about our mission, goals, projects and aspirations. You will note our priorities and become acquainted with a wonderful and ambitious initiative called The Great Works Project. And, of major importance, you will discover how you can join in this exciting support activity.

These are economically difficult times for universities everywhere, and Partners in Dance has pledged its assistance to provide scholarships and other forms of support for outstanding young artists, who are the future of dance in America.
