Lori Hales Senior VP of Sales, Pearson Education
For the past 20 years, Hales has worked in the education industry. She is currently the senior vice president of sales at Pearson Education the world's largest learning company. She has held every core job function in higher education, including sales, marketing and training at senior levels.
As senior vice president Hales manages a $500 million sales team that includes 180 representatives, four regional managers and 20 district sales managers for the western half of the U.S.
Hales has repeatedly outperformed expectations and goals throughout her career by building winning sales teams. Her guiding principle is that a great team is composed of talented people who are excited, motivated and encouraged to be independent leaders.
Hales is passionate about education and developing people. She has managed high-performing teams in numerous roles throughout her career. She has developed and trained hundreds of sales representatives, managers and marketing managers in the U.S. and Australia. Her team members consistently achieved their goals and many have been promoted to significant positions within the organization. She has been successful at turning around several sales and marketing teams within Pearson U.S. and internationally.
Hales was born in Detroit and graduated from the University of Michigan - Dearborn with a bachelor’s degree in finance. She has worked in Australia and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. A former professional cyclist, Hales has become a devoted daily practitioner of Ashtanga yoga, which she finds helps with energy, focus and discipline.
