Teaching
Dr. Susan Pozo teaches a number of courses for the economics department that are "global" in nature. At the undergraduate level she teaches International Economics (Economics 3800), Contemporary International Economic Issues (Econ 1080) and Latin American Economies (Econ 3890). At the graduate level, she teaches an international finance course (Econ6800) and a workshop that focuses on immigration and remittances (Econ 6990). Professor Pozo is organizing a WMU study abroad course on the Latin American economy.
Research
Professor Pozo's has writes about immigrants' remittances, asset accumulation, exchange rate uncertainty, currency crises and the statistical properties of exchange rates. While some of these topics might seem unrelated, they all involve economic phenomena that are often difficult to measure. Her research has been funded by the United Nations, the Inter-American Development Bank, the National Institutes of Health, the Fulbright Foundation, and the BBVA.
