FINAL THOUGHTS

You should now have completed all of your assignments, which is all part of your Collaborative Project (Project-Based Learning). You have developed two different technology-integrated lesson plans. You are able to use Excel to make a data collection spreadsheet with a graph. You understand how you might accommodate a student with a disability using assistive technology. You have a better understanding of the basic operations of a personal computer and how networks and the Internet are connected. You know how to connect global learning into Project Based Learning. You know how to create a Digital Story and use Google Maps. You are more comfortable in thinking about how technology might be naturally integrated into a lesson plan, and how powerful the Internet and its many online tools such as TaskStream, ProfilerPro, and Blackboard eLearning System can be as tools in your teaching toolbox. In the process, you are better able to understand how to properly find and reference materials that you legally copy from the Internet for use in your classroom. You should leave this course with a broader knowledge and experience base in the use of technology in the classroom. Congratulations, you are well on your way to being a thoughtful educator with many of the technology tools and techniques that you will need as a beginning 21st century teacher. However, please remember that learning is a life long process, and this is only a beginning of your need to stay ahead of ever changing educational technology advancements.
