The chart below lists the states that are parties with Michigan in the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Contract. The purpose of the NASDTEC Interstate Contract is to assist teachers and other educators who find it necessary to move to another state by providing a vehicle for recognition of their educational training if such educators have completed state approved teacher education programs or are state certified with appropriate experience.
Currently, 46 states, the District of Colombia, Guam and Puerto Rico have signed the contract for one or more of the the four educator categories: teacher, support professionals, administrators and vocational educators.
