A Statement from Our Graduate Director and Graduate Advisor:
Welcome to the Graduate Program in English at Western Michigan University.
We offer Master’s and Doctoral degrees in three different areas of emphasis: Creative Writing, English Education, and Literature and Language. Our large and vibrant department is home to nearly 120 graduate students, many of whom are supported by teaching or research assistantships. In a typical year our graduate students compile a record of publications, productions, presentations, and prizes that testifies to their impressive abilities as writers, scholars, and teachers.
