
Michael Schroeder received his bachelor’s degree in English from WMU in 1974 and is a graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. A reporter/editor for the Wall Street Journal’s Washington bureau, Mr. Schroeder covers financial regulatory and legislative issues for the Journal, which he joined in 1997.
During his first five years with the paper, he covered the Securities and Exchange Commission and banking regulation. He joined the Journal after working nearly ten years at Business Week, including five years at the magazine’s Washington bureau covering the SEC and doing investigative stories. Prior to that, he served as Business Week’s Pittsburgh Bureau chief, and earlier in his career worked at the Detroit News, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and American Banker newspaper in New York.
