This site contains two very useful links for teachers looking to use digital photography in their classroom.

The first useful link, http://www.howstuffworks.com/digital-camera.htm, takes the user to a page that contains a very user-friendly "spider-like" diagram near the bottom of the page. The "body" of the spider is "digital photography" and spreading out in a "leg" formation are all sorts of topics relating to digital photography that the user can click on. Anything from cost of the camera to type of camera to cool facts about digital photography can be accessed via this convenient "spider" diagram.

The second link that would be of good use for a teacher interested in digital photography is http://www.kodak.com/US/en/digital/dlc/. This takes the user to the Kodak page for people interested in digital photography. Kodak, a leader in the field of photography since its inception more than a century ago, is now at the forefront of the new frontier in photography - digital cameras. The D.L.C. (digital learning center) on this site helps users by providing information on different books that can be purchased relating to digital photography and even offers online courses on how to use digital cameras.

This is an excellent site for the teacher who wants to get a general, yet thorough introduction to the field of digital photography. Mr. Kubota, of the Hawaii Department of Education, did a very good job of developing this user-friendly site. It almost works like a tour from the beginning of the homepage, with each subsequent page taking the user to a new facet of digital cameras and photography. Everything from how to buy the camera, the best way to take pictures and even how to publish them is addressed. The use of example pictures to provide the user with a visual compliment to the text description is especially useful.
