Teaching Writing Resources is a page designed to offer teachers of writing different kinds of websites to help them teach , as well as sites to help their students sharpen their writing skills. While connected to these sites, one can find lesson plans, a variety of study skills, different writing activities and a variety of other fun sites that may be incorporated into your writing classroom. Some of these sites offer writing prompts and also include practices that check for understanding. They can be useful for students who are experiencing writers block, or simply need an "extra boost" towards understanding the material, or need more practice. In short, these websites can a very valuable tool for both teachers and students offering helpful insight into the world of writing. They are a broad summary of the many resources available to us, future teachers, on the world wide web.

1.) http://www.nichcy.org/pubs/bibliog/bib14txt.htm
This website gives a list of resources for the following areas: General strategy material, strategies for studying, thinking, and test taking, strategies for reading and writing, strategies for math, science and other subject areas. This web page is geared more towards those teachers that are dealing with students with learning disabilities. However, it is a great attribute to those teachers wanting to find new and interesting ways to incorporate writing into their classrooms.

2.) http://www.gse.buffalo.edu/org/writingstrategies/steps.htm
This was probably the best website that I found for teachers. You start at the homepage which gives you links to other pages with lesson plans for all teaching levels, a four step writing strategy process, writing workshop ideas, and strategies for teachers to use for struggling writers to improve their writing. The link that takes you to strategies for struggling writers is a book that you can purchase but it also gives you an excerpt and a summary of the book itself. My favorite part of this website was the lesson plan link. I am always looking for new ideas and ways to teach a certain idea, this is where you can find it.

3.) http://www.thewritetrack.com/
The "writetrack" is a group of people whose aim is to give teachers ideas about ways to teach writing especially those students with learning disabilities.

4.) http://www.junketstudies.com/rulesofw/
11 rules of writing
This site is a concise guide to some of the most commonly violated rules of writing, grammar, and punctuation. It is intended for all writers as an aid in the learning and refining of writing skills.

7.) Http://cctc.commnet.edu/grammar/
Guide to Grammar and Writing not only answers the questions students have about writing, but it also provides places for them to practice their skills. There are quizzes on things like comma usage, and the site will even check the quiz after the student finishes it on line. This is a great tool not only for teachers, but also for students who know where they lack skills and want to gain those skills.

8.) http://www.how-to-study.com
This site does precisely what its name promises; it teaches students how to study. Students can learn different skills like improving reading skills, and how to listen better. It even teaches students how to take notes and how to study. This is a great site for students who are trying hard in school, but have never been taught the skills that their peers may have already learned. These skills are a foundation on which to build good writing.

9.) www.angelfire.com/wi/writingprocess/index.html

It includes ideas and tips to help the writer with the writing process, including: prewriting, writing, revising, editing, and publishing. There are helpful insights on ways to get through a "writer's block" and has many links to other great writing sites.

10.) http://teacher2b.com
The English Teacher is a wonderful site for, obviously, English teachers! It contains great writing tips and ideas, as well as insights to other forms of the English classroom, including: teaching creative writing, classroom discipline, teaching literature, teaching composition, and teaching media. It is a wonderful resource for lesson plans and teaching strategies that will, hopefully, incorporate more creativity into your classroom.
