Environmental studies is a dynamic and evolving interdisciplinary program, comprising faculty from a range of specialties in the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.

Established in 1972, ours is one of the oldest Environmental Studies Programs in the nation.

Mission: The Environmental Studies Program is crucial to WMU's mission to "advance responsible environmental stewardship." We promote and advance this fundamental tenet of sensible and ethical behavior, and we invite you to join us in this ongoing and hopeful enterprise.
