Enhancing Clinical Skills for Strengthening Clients’ Internal Attachment Management in Social Work Practice

Posted by Joel Krauss for College of Health and Human Services

This advanced continuing education course is tailored for social work professionals aiming to elevate their clinical skills in the realm of attachment theory.

The course will delve into the intricacies of attachment and focus on strategies to strengthen clients' internal management systems, fostering healthier and more secure connections within family dynamics. Through a combination of theoretical exploration, case studies, and practical applications, participants will gain the expertise needed to facilitate positive changes in clients' attachment patterns and contribute to their overall well-being. Reflective practices to challenge our own biases or assumptions, continuous reflection of cultural influences, exploration of intersecting identities such as race and gender impact attachment experiences. This course aims to empower social work professionals with advanced clinical skills, enabling them to navigate and enhance clients' internal management systems of attachment. Participants will engage in practical exercises, role-playing scenarios, and reflective discussions to integrate these skills into their professional practice effectively.
