The Department of Gender and Women's Studies at Western Michigan University occasionally seeks individuals to teach on a part-time basis. Experienced instructors as well as those with exceptional potential for success in the interdisciplinary study of women and gender are invited to submit applications. Applicants will be evaluated based on credentials and fit with departmental needs. Applications may be submitted at any time; submission no later than March 15 is recommended for consideration to teach in the following academic year. Complete the items requested on the form and attach the three required documents.
A cover letter articulating your preparation to teach gender and women’s studies courses (e.g., degrees, coursework, trainings, workshops, teaching experience) and why you wish to teach in our department.
An updated CV, indicating degrees received, and a list of courses for which you have been the sole instructor.
- Evidence of teaching excellence, such as detailed course evaluations, observation letters and a sample syllabus.
