Master of Arts in Geography

The Department of Geography Master of Arts offers concentrations in

• Community development and planning
• Environmental and resource analysis
• Geographic techniques

Program requirements

Students select one of three concentrations, yet each program is individually designed to suit career or personal objectives. Students must fulfill the required geography core areas and follow The Graduate College rules.

Several flexible courses may be used in any concentration area, when relevant to your program of study. These are individualized independent study courses or professional internships.

Goals

The Master of Arts in Geography is designed to:

• Assist students in acquiring the skills needed for independent geographic research, including organizational and communication skills
• Enable the student to develop a concentration in a particular aspect of the field.
