OCTOBER 2011
As if the live soccer action wasn't exciting enough—the first 100 fans to the following games will receive a (free) limited edition watter bottle!

The office of Health Promotion and Education is pleased to announce on-site chair massage is now available to faculty & staff. If you are a WMU benefits-eligible employee, your insurance benefits may cover the already reasonable cost; so be sure to check your plan! You will be able to relax and rejuvenate in the convenience of your own office or conference room, with your choice of a 15- or 30-minute session.
And when you decide to schedule an appointment, why not ask a few others if they would like to do the same? Our certified massage therapists will be glad to accomodate your friends and colleagues just before or after your scheduled time.
Call 387-3263 to schedule.
SEPTEMBER 2011
Kalamazoo, MI — Canadian geese from a nearby gaggle have been sighted loitering near WMU Sindecuse Health Center, in a concerted effort to secure territory adjacent to Goldsworth Pond. Occupation of the pond remains a contentious subject for the geese, with other rival species vying for dominance. Although they generally demonstrate a high tolerance for people, geese may vocalize if approached. It is acceptable to discourage them from the premesis so they do not linger.
We advise you to exercise caution in the event you should encounter the geese, as the adjacent parking lots and walkways have been vandalized by their feces. WMU Landscape Services and other personnel have been notified and are instrumental in cleaning the walks for the safety of visitors and patients.

To report goose defecation on Health Center premesis, please contact the Health Center building coordinator at (269) 387-3283.
Visit the Goldsworth Geese Facebook page for more information.

Dear whomever removed one of our banners from the Intramural Field fence,
We are flattered you enjoyed our banners so much you decided to take one for yourself. In fact, we will be happy to give you the other banner so you will have the entire message. Please stop by the health center and inquire at the welcome desk. This way, you will not have to cut it from the fence as you did the first one. We hope to see you soon!
Thank you,
—Sindecuse Health Center
On April 20, 2011, Education (ED) Secretary Arne Duncan and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius launched a new initiative to help educate graduating college and university seniors about their new health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act. Thanks to the new law, many young adults will be eligible to remain on their parent’s health insurance plan until their 26th birthday.
Recommended: Understanding the Affordable Care Act (Introduction)
It is estimated that approximately 1.2 million young adults may be eligible to stay on their parent’s health plan, thanks to the Affordable Care Act. In the past, many young adults were removed from their parent’s health plan when they graduated from college.
