How Can I Avoid Getting a Cold?

It’s that time of year again – cold and flu season. You got a flu shot right? Get one at Sindecuse. Here are a few tips for protecting yourself and those around you from getting sick:

  • Avoid close contact. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Wash your hands. Surfaces you’re touching may contain cold-causing germs, so wash your hands thoroughly when possible. If hand washing is not possible, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer can also help to prevent the spread of germs.
  • Sleeve sneeze. If you feel a sneeze or a cough coming on, and you don’t have a tissue close at hand, make sure to aim your sneeze into your sleeve, where the germs are not likely to come into contact with other people.
  • Stay home! If you’re not feeling well, give your body a break and stay home to rest up before it gets worse.  Your classmates and coworkers will thank you as well!
