Degree Requirements

Applicants for admission to the School’s graduate program should expect to undertake a period of rigorous study. Successful completion of a master’s program demands a willingness to spend many hours preparing for courses, attending classes, and participating in practicum experiences.

The requirements for graduation are:

  2. An overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (A=4.0). Any student whose overall GPA falls below 3.0 will be placed on academic probation by the Graduate College. Any coursework receiving a grade below 2.0 (C) must be repeated.
  3. Proficiency in required coursework demonstrated by successfully passing each course, passing proficiency examinations, and/or transferring credit.
  4. All coursework must be completed for the M.S.W. degree program within six years.
  5. A completed Graduate Student Permanent Program Plan of Study, reviewed and approved by an advisor and sent to the Graduation Auditor.
  6. An application for graduation audit submitted by the given deadline
