The WMU Student Financial Aid Office. The Student Financial Aid Office facilitates application to various financial assistance programs. For all loan information, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid early in the application process. Early loan applications have priority. It is best to apply between January 1 and March 1.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan (FDU). FDU is a federally financed student loan made to students meeting specific eligibility requirements. In order to apply, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form must be filed. Students may borrow up to the cost of attendance minus any other financial aid received and may not borrow more than the maximum annual or aggregate amount. Interest is charged throughout the life of the loan. You may choose to pay the interest charged on the loan or allow the interest to be capitalized (added to the loan principal).
