Teaching
Currently I am a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Sikarskie in Art and Architecture in America. Previously I was a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Beyan in American History to 1877.
Research
I am currently working on my thesis. The focus of my research is the use and abuse of lay abbots in the later Carolingian period. This period preceded the great reform movement of the 10th and 11th centuries and may well have been an initial factor in driving the reform. For this reason, it is important to understand how the lay abbots affected their abbeys and whether they were detrimental or if most fulfilled the obligation of protecting the abbey in a time of turmoil.
